In addition to our main campus at Wahroonga, we have three satellite classes – two at St Joseph’s in Narrabeen for students starting school and one at St John’s, Narraweena for students preparing for high school.
The Start Right program is based at St Josephs’ Narrabeen and taught by St Lucy’s specialist teachers. Start Right is typically a two year program and focuses on preparing students for their next school setting. Most students from this program will successfully transition to a mainstream school. Students who show signs of readiness will transition to their new school earlier. The Start Right program assists students to establish the classroom and social skills required for school, and to acquire academic foundations for Literacy and Numeracy. Students have opportunities to engage with their mainstream peers at school events such as Mass and Assembly, and in the Playground at morning tea and lunch. Specialist St Lucy’s staff deliver Creative Arts and Physical Education lessons.
The Aim High program is based at St John the Apostle in Narraweena and is focused on preparing students for high school in an inclusive setting. Students in the upper years of primary get intensive instruction from St Lucy’s specialist teachers while having opportunities to integrate with their mainstream peers in the Playground, at school events and on regular excursions including a yearly camp. Students are equipped with leadership skills and the confidence and competence for a successful transition to High School. Specialist St Lucy’s staff deliver Creative Arts and Physical Education lessons.
