In addition to our main campus at Wahroonga, we have three satellite classes – two at St Joseph’s in Narrabeen for students starting school and one at St John’s, Narraweena for students preparing for high school.
The Start Right program at Narrabeen includes Kindergarten and Year 1 classes based at St Josephs’ Narrabeen which are taught by St Lucy’s specialist teachers. Start Right at Narrabeen is typically a two-year program and focuses on preparing students for their primary and upper primary career. Students from this program will often transition to a mainstream school and students who show signs of readiness will transition to their new school earlier than the end of year 1. The Start Right program assists students to establish the classroom and social skills required for school, whatever the setting and to acquire academic foundations for Literacy and Numeracy. The satellite campus provides students with opportunities to engage with mainstream peers on the playground and at school events such as Mass and Assembly. Specialist St Lucy’s staff deliver Creative Arts and Physical Education lessons and the classes are supported by St Lucy’s Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. Our Start Right at Narrabeen classes visit Wahroonga campus regularly for special events throughout the year and in terms 1 and 4 for the swimming program, which is a part of their physical education curriculum. Students who are best suited to a special education setting after Year 1 have automatic entry into St Lucy’s Wahroonga Campus.
The Aim High at Narraweena is a year 5/6 composite class, based at , and is taught by St Lucy’s specialist staff. The Aim High at Narraweena program focuses on preparing students for their high school education. Students at this satellite campus have opportunities to integrate with their mainstream peers on the playground, at school events and on regular excursions including a yearly camp. Students are equipped with leadership skills and the confidence and competence for a successful transition to their High School setting. Specialist St Lucy’s staff deliver Creative Arts and Physical Education lessons and the class is supported by St Lucy’s Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. Our Aim High at Narraweena class visits Wahroonga campus regularly for special events throughout the year and in terms 1 and 4 for the swimming program which is a part of their Physical Education curriculum.
